The Role

Cross River is hiring an experienced, hands-on Team Lead to lead our Identity and Access Management (IAM) engineering team. In this role, you will help drive the end-to-end architecture, development, and maintenance of our core Identity Provider (IdP) and the authentication and authorization layers that nearly every application at the bank depends on.

You will lead a high-performing engineering team, collaborate closely with cross-functional partners across the company, and help shape the technical roadmap for digital identity.

This is a leadership role for someone who still enjoys being hands-on in the code and the architecture.

What You’ll Actually Be Doing

Technical Leadership & Mentorship

• Mentor, grow, and inspire a talented team of engineers, cultivating technical excellence, strong engineering practices, and high accountability.
•  Stay hands-on — set the technical bar through design reviews, code quality, and direct contribution where it counts.

Architecture & Platform Direction

• Drive the design, performance, availability, and evolution of the IAM applications and authentication/authorization flows your team delivers — contributing to the shared IdP architecture and roadmap set by the AVP, IAM, in close partnership with security and product.

Technical Roadmap & Standards

• Stay current with industry standards and protocol advancements (OAuth 2.0 / OIDC, FAPI, and advanced federation) and translate them into a durable architectural strategy.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

•  Serve as the central technical “connector” between security, product, and the various engineering squads to ensure clean, secure integrations across the ecosystem.

AI & Developer Productivity

• Drive deliberate adoption of AI tools and intelligent automation across the software development lifecycle to boost engineering velocity and strengthen security posture.

Requirements

What You Bring to the Table 

• Leadership experience: 2+ years leading software or security engineering teams as a Team Lead or Tech Lead in fast-paced, high-scale environments, while remaining hands-on.
• Architectural expertise: Strong background in system design, distributed architectures, and scalable software development.
• Core advantage: Hands-on, deep familiarity with IAM protocols, standards, and systems (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, FAPI, modern IdPs, and access-control models).
• Self-learner & adaptable: Exceptional self-learning ability and a proven track record of mastering complex, evolving technical domains quickly.
• AI-forward: Demonstrated experience and enthusiasm for leveraging AI technologies and modern developer-productivity tools effectively.
• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication in both English and Hebrew, with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What Success Looks Like (First 12 Months)

• A mentored, high-performing IAM engineering team with clear ownership and raised engineering standards.
• A clear, well-communicated architectural direction for the core IdP and authentication/authorization platform.
• Smooth, secure integrations with partner teams, with IAM recognized as a reliable technical “connector.”
• Measurable, responsible adoption of AI-driven engineering practices across the team's SDLC.
